Arkadiusz Kałęcki - the winner of XIX edition of Automobile Technology Olympics
On May 12th, at the Bosch headquarters in Warsaw, the third stage of the Automobile Technology Olympics took place. The best 13 students from schools with Mechanics profile participated in the competition. AS-PL participated in the event as a supporting sponsor.
Arkadiusz Kałęcki from „Zespół Szkół Technicznych i Licealnych no. 2 in Grodzisk Mazowiecki” became the winner. The school “Zespół Szkół Samochodowych” in Lodz was awarded because of 2 their students who received the highest number of points in total score.
The competition was accompanied by a technical panel with speeches of experts on the subject of modern technologies in the automotive industry. The representative of AS-PL have presented the company profile and offer in the reference to the start-stop systems that are used in cars from 2015. AS-PL has founded the prize for the winner (loudspeaker system “Jabra”) and for the school (cross-sections of alternator and starter for teaching purposes).
The finalists had two practical tasks to solve. First was about an engine failure in Volkswagen Golf VII 2,0 TDI with Common Rail. They had to identify the type of failure while there is no power in the engine during the medium and heavy load.
The second task was about diagnostics of the failure, which was signaled by disability of many systems. The task was performed on Volkswagen Golf VI.
After completion of both tasks, the contestant can reach max. 20 points. The points were summarized with results from semi-final and as a result, have given the winner.
